The Two Harbors baseball program closed its season by recognizing several players for their contributions throughout the spring. Senior captain Brenner Quinn earned All‑Conference honors and was voted the team’s MVP.
Quinn, who also shared Best Hitter with fellow captain Anders Hastings, has been one of the program’s most consistent leaders. Head Coach Adam Labat said Quinn’s approach has shaped the team’s identity.
“He was a four-year starter and certainly one of the leaders on the team,” Labat said. “He loves to play the game and compete, and he’s looking forward to playing in college.”
In a previous interview, Labat noted that Quinn and the senior group helped set a positive tone for younger players as the roster continued to grow.
Pitching awards went to junior Garren Tikkanen and senior Jacob Swardstrom. Tikkanen delivered one of the season’s standout performances with a 16‑strikeout outing against Carlton. Swardstrom provided steady innings and leadership on the mound.
Best Defensive Player went to Noah Mecklin, recognized for his consistency in the field. Best Teammate honors were awarded to senior Dax Krech and Quinn, reflecting the group’s emphasis on support and accountability.
The Agates finished 6‑14 and fell to Pequot Lakes in the first round of the Class AA section playoffs at the end of May. Two Harbors scored five runs in the loss, which ended a season marked by late‑spring improvement and competitive stretches against section opponents.
Labat said the group continued to show resilience and commitment throughout the year.
“It’s been a fun team to coach,” he said back in May. “We’re trying, and hopefully we can start translating that into a few more wins in the future.”
