SILVER BAY, MN — North Shore Area Partners (NSAP), in collaboration with The Victory Fund, is pleased to announce “Brain Health Week,” a community-focused initiative taking place from Monday, June 1st through Thursday, June 4th. All events will begin daily at 11:00 a.m. at North Shore Area Partners, located at 36 Shopping Center, Silver Bay, MN.
Brain Health Week offers a series of educational presentations, physical activities, and interactive experiences designed to help community members protect their cognitive health, lower dementia risks, and experience sensory changes associated with dementia.
The daily schedule features the following community events:
• Monday, June 1st – Building Brain-Healthy Habits: Hosted by the Alzheimer’s Association Minnesota – North Dakota Chapter. Participants will learn practical tips to establish healthy daily routines that actively support and protect brain health.
• Tuesday, June 2nd – Take a Walk!: A group physical activity. Attendees can meet at the NSAP building to enjoy a walk together with community members or choose to venture out on an independent route.
• Wednesday, June 3rd – Heart Health and Dementia Risk: Presented by Lake County Public Health. This session explores the strong connection between cardiovascular health and dementia, offering actionable steps to keep both your heart and mind healthy during the aging process.
• Thursday, June 4th – Virtual Dementia Tour: A hands-on, experiential simulation conducted by Second Wind Dreams Certified Advanced VDT Trainers. This tour allows participants to experience the physical and sensory challenges faced by individuals living with dementia to foster deeper empathy and understanding.
