Softball

Two Harbors

The Agates opened their week with a strong 12-2 win over Floodwood at home on May 12, putting together steady offense and clean innings in the field. They followed that with a close 7-5 loss to Cromwell-Wright on May 14, a game that stayed within reach throughout. Their earlier season matchup with the Cardinals had been postponed due to weather, leaving this as their only meeting.

The Agates regrouped quickly later that same afternoon, traveling to McGregor and earning a 7-4 win to split the day’s action. The team wrapped up its regular season on May 15 with a 13-3 loss at Ely.

Cook County

The Vikings finished the regular season 1-9, but their final outing on May 15 was one of their most competitive. The 4-3 loss to North Woods stayed tight from the opening innings, with Cook County keeping pressure on the Grizzlies and staying within a single run late in the game.

Silver Bay

The Mariners ended the regular season 17-3 and ranked sixth in their class, closing out one of the program’s strongest recent campaigns. The May 12 game at Barnum was expected to be a challenge, and the Bombers edged out a 3-2 win in a low-scoring matchup. Silver Bay then faced Duluth Denfeld on May 14, falling in a rematch against both teams they had beaten earlier in tournament play. The

Mariners finished their week with an 11-1 win over Hibbing on May 15, a decisive performance that sends them into postseason play with momentum.

Baseball

Two Harbors

The Agates fell to Cherry 11-7 before turning around with a solid showing against Mesabi East on May 15. That game was cut short due to a local fire, but not before Two Harbors built a 7-1 lead and controlled the pace on both sides of the ball. They played McGregor after press time on May 19. Their regular season concludes with a doubleheader at Ely on May 22.

Cook County

The Vikings’ May 14 game against North Woods was cancelled, but they were able to take the field the next day against Barnum, where they fell 6-0. In tournament play on May 16, Cook County put together a six-run effort but came up short in a 10-6 loss to Mountain IronBuhl.

They hosted McGregor after press time on May 19. Their final regular-season game was scheduled for May 21 in Silver Bay.

Silver Bay

The Mariners opened their week with a 6-0 loss at Barnum on May 12, then responded with a strong 19-6 win at McGregor, producing consistent offense throughout the lineup.

Their May 18 game against Cherry will be reported when results are available. Silver Bay was set to close its regular season on May 21 against Cook County.
