An Evening Showcase of Art Coming to Silver Bay

(Silver Bay, MN) April 28, 2026 — Silver Bay Public Library announces an evening showcase of art, celebrating with a reception for the two artists displaying at the library for the months of May and June: Marti Mullen and Deb Wesenberg.

Marti Mullen’s art “rises from the quiet spaces where intuition meets the living pulse of the natural world. In oil pastels, acrylics, collage, and mixed media, I explore color, line, and shape in an iterative process of layering and mark making. For me, painting is not just about making an image. It is a practice of connection — to place, to self, and to others. I hope my art invites viewers to recognize something of their own story in its layers.”

Deb Wesenberg states: “My inspiration to copy famous artists’ paintings started with a request from my son – could you paint Van Gogh’s The Olive Trees? With my very limited painting experience my initial thought was – no. But my response was ‘I can try’. Up for the challenge, I researched the painting and the artist’s Impressionist style – use of heavy paint and distinctive brushstrokes. I so enjoyed recreating this painting, I was eager to take requests from other family members resulting in my Famous Paintings Collection.”

The open-house style reception will take place Friday, May 8 from 5:30-6:45pm at Silver Bay Public Library.
