Grand Marais, MN, January 5, 2026 — This winter, the Grand Marais Public Library invites the community to Track Down a Good Book through its all-ages Winter Reading Program, running Monday, January 12 through Friday, March 27. There is no registration required and no library card needed to participate. Simply pick up a BINGO card at the library or download one from the library’s website on or after January 12 and start reading.
Children and adults each have opportunities to earn rewards by completing BINGOs. Youth participants earn a small treat and prizes based on the total number of BINGOs completed. Adults receive a raffle ticket for each completed BINGO for a chance to win one of six themed prize baskets, along with a token piece of chocolate for each card submitted.
In addition to the reading challenge, the Winter Reading Program includes special events to keep the fun going, including:
• Friday Night Reels, an adult film series held every other Friday at 6:00 PM, beginning Friday, January 9.
• Duluth Superior Symphony Orchestra Valentine’s Day Special, Friday, February 13 at 6:00 PM.
• Dance for ALL!, Wednesday, March 4 at 6:00 PM.
• Bookmark-Making Event, Wednesday, March 11 at 6:00 PM.
• Children’s Storytimes, Thursdays at 10:30 AM on January 22, February 19, and March 19.
“While the theme invites us to track down a good book, this year’s Winter Reading Program also reflects the many ways stories live in our minds, bodies, and daily lives,” said Library Director Elektra Branwen. “Through films, music, dance, hands-on creativity, and storytimes, the program offers a range of cultural experiences alongside reading. I truly can’t wait for the BINGO cards to be released—our staff are eager to start participating and to help the community do the same.”
The Grand Marais Public Library increases knowledge, inspires creativity, removes barriers, and builds community across Cook County. The Friday Night Reels movie lineup is available online, and bookmarks are available at the library.
