NOTICE OF A PUBLIC HEARING ON A REQUEST FOR A VARIANCE FROM THE REQUIREMENTS OF THE LAND USE ORDINANCE OF LAKE COUNTY, MINNESOTA.

Notice is hereby given that the Lake County Board of Adjustment will conduct a public hearing on behalf of, and authorized by, the Lake County Board of Commissioners on January 12, 2026 at 1:00 PM, in the Law Enforcement Center; 613 3rd Ave, Two Harbors, MN 55616, at which time interested parties shall have the opportunity to discuss the granting of the following request:

nIn accordance with Article 25 of Lake County Land Use Ordinance #12, this request, if approved, would allow 1. Relief from the Erosion Hazard Area setback to build a structure in the Shore Impact Zone and on the toe of a bluff. (Land Use Ordinance #12, Article 7, Section 7.11A) 2. Relief from the Erosion Hazard Area setback to rebuild and expand a nonconforming cabin in the Shore Impact Zone. (Land Use Ordinance #12, Article 7, Section 7.11A) 3. Relief from the lot width requirement, the height maximum, and the Erosion Hazard Area setback for an after-the-fact guest quarters (Land Use Ordinance #12, Article 7, Section 7.06 & 7.11A). The property in question is located at 1842 Hwy 61, Two Harbors, MN 55616 and legally described as Outlots 1-5 Govt Lot 1 in Section 21, Township 53, Range 10; 4.42 acres; zones shoreland (Lake Superior), R-4/Residential District, 2 acre minimum, Silver Creek Township. PID: 29-5310-21195.
