LUCAS LORNTSON

May 28, 1993 – December 10, 2025

Lucas Lorntson, 32, of Silver Bay, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, December 10, 2025 at St. Luke’s Hospital after a year-long battle with heart disease.

Lucas was born on May 28, 1993, in Two Harbors, MN to Milissa (Packard) and Robert Lorntson Jr. He grew up in Beaver Bay and Silver Bay, attended William Kelley School, and was a member of Sychar Lutheran Church.

Lucas was friendly, funny, and fiercely loyal to his friends and family. He was known for teasing his sisters endlessly-later extending that same playful affection to his nieces and nephews. He loved agate picking, fishing, spending time in the woods, and being with the people he cared about most. Above all, his favorite companions were his nephews and nieces.

He is preceded in death by his grandmothers, Georgianna Lorntson and Phyllis Laberge; grandfather, Donald Packard Sr; and cousins, Dennis Manz, Joseph Klar, and Michelle Klar.

Lucas is survived by his mother, Missy (Bill Franklin) and his father, Robert Lorntson Jr; grandfather, Robert Lorntson Sr; sisters, Holly (Dane McMillen) Lorntson, Melanie Lorntson, and Savannah Lorntson, all of Silver Bay; bonus brother Jacob (Tiffany) Franklin of Owasso, OK; and bonus sister Kristen (Matt) Tampio of Silver Bay.

He is also survived by his nephew, Killian McMillen; nieces, Roselynn and Leela Hodge; bonus niece and nephew Ava and Max Tampio; many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends; plus, special friends, Jesse Harkness, Cory Babb, Ben Stolley, Zoey Lehtinen, and CJ Clayton. 

A Celebration of Lucas’ Life will be held at Northwoods Family Grille in Silver Bay on Sunday, December 21, from 1-4 PM. All are welcome to come, share food, and remember Lucas through stories and memories.
