Midseason Momentum: Two Harbors Girls Soccer Pushes Forward

The Two Harbors High School Girls Varsity Soccer team is pressing through the 2025 season with determination. With a roster stretching from eighth graders to seniors, the Agates are balancing seasoned leadership with emerging talent as they face a competitive slate of opponents.

So far, the team has notched wins over Rockford, Princeton, Hibbing/Chisholm, and PACT. A 5-1 victory against Walker-Hackensack-Akeley on September 11 stood out as a dominant performance.

The Agates have also weathered tough losses to Grand Rapids, Hermantown, Duluth East, Proctor, and Esko, but continue to show resilience. A hard-fought 2-2 draw on the road against Walker-Hackensack-Akeley on September 25 highlighted their ability to stay composed under pressure.

The roster features senior anchors like goalkeeper Nadia Swoverland (#1), Ayla Simonson (#15), and Ella Peterson (#21), supported by juniors and sophomores including Hayden Bright (#5), Reese Costley (#7), Ashlynn Cavallin (#11), and Emmy Bentler (#3). Younger players such as Kennedy Otterblad (#22) and Carley Wartman (#24) are also making their mark, gaining valuable experience while bolstering the team’s depth.

With several games remaining against Grand Rapids, Duluth Denfeld, Hibbing/Chisholm, and Duluth Marshall, the Agates are focused on closing out the season strong. The combination of veteran leadership and fresh energy continues to shape a program building for both the present and the future.

Best of luck to the Agates as they move into the final stretch of the season!
