LAKE COUNTY PLANNING COMMISSION MINUTES LAW ENFORCEMENT CENTER JUNE 16, 2025

The Lake County Planning Commission sat in session at 3:00 p.m. on this date and conducted hearings and other business.

Lake County Comprehensive Plan and Land Use Ordinance and Sub­surface Sewage Treatment Ordinance amendments- Motion by Ellefson sup­ported by Bathke to recommend to the County Board approval of the proposed Ordinance language with some changes. The language will be available on the Lake County website. Motion carried; Hoops, Sve, Bathke, J. Ernest, B. Ernest, Ellefson, Mayer, and Guenthner voted in favor; none opposed. (PCR-25-011).

I-25-010r– Motion by Hoops support­ed by J. Ernest to recommend to County Board 5-year approval with conditions of a renewal interim use application for a vacation rental home filed by Ruth Schmidt-Baeumler at 2604 W. Castle Danger Road, Two Harbors, MN 55616. The property is described as: SW 1/4 of SE 1/4 in Section 31, Township 54, Range 9, 40 acres, zoned nonshoreland, R-3/Resi­dential District, 2.5 acre minimum, Silver Creek Township. PID: 29-5409-31850. Motion carried; Hoops, Bathke, J. Ernest, B. Ernest, Ellefson, Mayer, and Guenthner voted in favor; none opposed. (PCR-25- 012)

Ernest sup­ported by Ellefson to recommend to Coun­ty Board 5-year approval with conditions of a renewal interim use application for a va­cation rental home filed by Joe & Theresa Hansen at 1788 Hwy 61, Two Harbors, MN 55616. The property is described as: Outlot 12-13-14-15-16-17 & 18 of Auditor’s Plat 7 in Section 21, Township 53, Range 10, 3.23 acres, zoned shoreland (Lake Superior), R-4/Residential District, 2 acre minimum, Silver Creek Township. PID: 27-5707-23140 / 23810.

Motion by Bathke supported by Ellefson to approve the May 19, 2025 min­utes as corrected. Motion carried; Bathke, B. Ernest, and Ellefson voted in favor; none opposed.

Motion by Bathke supported by Guenthner to adjourn the meeting. Mo­tion carried; Hoops, Bathke, J. Ernest, B. Ernest, Ellefson, Mayer, and Guenthner voted in favor; none opposed. Meeting adjourned at 7:42 p.m.
