Representative Natalie Zeleznikar was presented with the “Legislator of the Year” award on Valentine’s day at the annual Leading Age Conference. This award honors Rep. Zeleznikar’s steadfast commitment to seniors as a State Legislator.
After 30 years as a Nursing Home Administrator, she is the only Representative with 30 years of Nursing Home Administrator experience in the House or the Senate. This experience has allowed her to be a voice for seniors across the state to explain the realities of mandates with no money. Rep. Zeleznikar was a vocal advocate for $300 million in funding that occurred in the last session. Now, the Governor is proposing to cut millions, putting those in Greater Minnesota at risk for nursing home closures. Senator Hoffman received “Senator of the Year” and Rep. Zeleznikar looks forward to bipartisan work to save Minnesota nursing homes.
