Birch Grove Community School Winter Musical

Submitted by Diane Blanchette Director, Birch Grove Community School

The annual winter musical was held at Birch Grove Community School on Wednesday, December 11th with an afternoon and evening performance. This festive winter musical has been the long-standing tradition at Birch Grove.

The Saplings (ages 3-5) warmed up each show with a few songs featuring red glowing noses, jingle bells, snowflakes, and tails ~ very cute performances both. The K-5 students performed the main musical feature; The Share Bears, A Storybook Fantasy for Young Voices, by Teresa Jennings. These elementary students sang their hearts out and it was well-received by both the afternoon and evening audiences with abundant applause and smiles!

The evening show was followed by cookies, a line of children waiting for a candy cane from Mrs. Claus, photo opportunities with Santa Claus, the Scholastic Holiday Bookfair, and families finding their child’s 2024 ornament on the entry tree to take home and treasure.

Many thanks to the Birch Grove students and staff for the wonderful shows! Much appreciation also to the following community volunteers: Lloyd Chase (Santa), Deonn Cicak (Mrs. Claus) and Bruce Johnson (photographer).
