As leaves begin to change color, so is the outside of the addition to the Silver Bay Public Library: brickwork is moving along, the addition blending seamlessly with the existing building. With construction progressing, interior work needs to begin, so the library will be moving for four to six weeks to Room 9 at the Mary MacDonald Center.
The move will occur from September 16-20, during which time the library will be closed. Volunteers are needed from Monday the 16th through Thursday the 19th to help with the move, The library will reopen at the Mary Mac on Monday, September 23rd. Volunteers can sign up for a time slot by calling the library (218-226-4331). Walk-in volunteers are also welcome.
Programming will still be offered during the move, and the schedule of events is posted on the library’s Facebook page and website. Programs will be held at the Mary Mac. Keep an eye out for upcoming programs, including “History Program: Heck of a New Deal” (October 1), “Essential Oils for Self Care” (October 4), book clubs, and more.
Due to space, a few collections will be unavailable while the library is at the Mary Mac: the audiobooks, Minnesota Nonfiction, juvenile nonfiction, and large print books. However, these books can be ordered from other libraries for patrons.
Thank you to the Silver Bay community for your patience while the library works to better serve its patrons!
